Spotlight On: The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division
Posted on July 26, 2021
The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division’s mission is simple: Meet Human Needs in His Name Without Discrimination. Every day they pursue that mission, serving hundreds of thousands of our neighbors in need in the Metropolitan Division (greater Chicagoland, northern Illinois, and northwestern Indiana).
As a faith-based social services provider, The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division is uniquely suited to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual elements of poverty in individuals and families.
Throughout the Metropolitan Division, they meet needs through 28 Corps Community Centers as well as family homeless shelters, a senior residence, childcare centers, an emergency disaster services center, a federally funded halfway house, a substance use disorder treatment center, a women’s restorative justice program, an emergency homeless assessment and response center, and a camp and conference center. Through these facilities, The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division feeds empty stomachs and hungry souls. They rebuild broken homes and broken lives. They offer hope to the hopeless and second chances to all.
