Skills utilizes a non-traditional, jobs-first workforce approach. This starts by working with employers to identify hiring needs and develop career pathways. Then, Skills’ staff personally finds, interviews, coaches, and connects qualified unemployed and underemployed candidates with hiring managers, bridging the access gap that exists. Over 70% of Skills’ applicants come from historically underserved neighborhoods on Chicago’s South and West Sides.

Skills’ unique approach has produced consistent results and has had a profound impact on thousands of people annually across the Chicagoland area. Jobs can be life-changing, and Skills exists to make that a reality.
