Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center

Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center is the city’s only nonprofit organization serving as the front-line responder to reports of child sexual abuse. Their unique collaboration brings child protection, law enforcement, and healing services together under one roof to respond to, treat, and ultimately prevent child abuse. ChicagoCAC also responds to cases of physical abuse, witness to violence, trafficking, and other incidents of serious child maltreatment. ChicagoCAC’s services are free-of-charge, and since opening in 2001, they have served more than 43,000 children.

ChicagoCAC’s staff facilitates the collaborative response with their partners, arranging family visits to the center and providing essential support services. ChicagoCAC conducts child-friendly forensic interviews, provides family advocacy and crisis intervention services, and provides mental health therapy to those affected by child sexual abuse and other violence. ChicagoCAC also reaches thousands of adults every year with education on preventing, recognizing and reporting abuse. All of ChicagoCAC’s services are aimed at reducing trauma so that children and families can begin their healing journey. A childhood free from abuse is a basic human right, and ChicagoCAC is working to ensure the safety, health, well-being, and futures of Chicago’s children.
