Supporting veteran scholars, by highlighting upcoming employment, research, and internship opportunities.
In partnership with more than 20 top-tier colleges and universities nationwide, Warrior-Scholar Project (WSP) helps enlisted service members and veterans transition from the military into a four-year college degree program. Our mission is to propel enlisted veterans and service members toward success in higher education and beyond through transformative programming — programming that advances skills, builds confidence, and forges lasting connections.
Each year, 115,000 veterans transition from the military to higher education, out of 200,000 separating from service. Education benefits offered by the GI Bill are often cited as one of the top reasons to join the military. Still, many enlisted service members and vets face barriers to enrolling in a college degree program: lack of awareness regarding their options, little confidence in their ability to succeed, and false promises offered by predatory for-profit colleges and universities who fail to deliver accredited degree programs. WSP was designed to fix this problem.
In partnership with top colleges and universities across the country, WSP hosts comprehensive one- and two-week college-preparatory boot camps for enlisted veterans and transitioning service members. Boot camps, often described by WSP alumni as life changing, are intensive (75+ academic hours required/week) and offered in three disciplines (Humanities, STEM, and Business & Entrepreneurship).
Following the boot camp experience, WSP’s nation-wide alumni network continues to support our veteran scholars, by highlighting upcoming employment, research, and internship opportunities, and hosting networking events and specialized seminars.
